How to Prepare Our Children In A Changing World?

In an ever changing, uncertain world where technology creates more separation than ever and has more influence over our kids than ever, try this

This past week, I paused work for a 4-day road trip with my daughter Thalia to explore possible universities for her future. She turned 19 on July 7th

—how time moves both slowly and suddenly. One of the highlights?

A spontaneous swim in the wild, beautiful ocean at Falmouth. Cold, cleansing, real.

Like any parent, I want to stop at nothing to help her reach her dreams

—even the ones that feel just out of reach.

And yet, part of the ache is knowing I can't guarantee the outcome.

I can only guide, support, and keep showing her how to walk toward what matters.

Afterall, we live what we learn.

🌍 So how do we prepare our children for the world?

It’s not just by buying into tech or chasing grades because that’s “where the world is going.” That may be a future, but it doesn’t have to be their future.

I believe we’re living into a split between the technocracy and the human mammals.

And our children need anchoring in humanity.

  • They need the felt sense of attuned presence.

  • They need healthy conflict, not robotic validation.

  • They need to learn how to lead, how to listen, and how to be with the grief of being alive.

And they need us to show them that the world—despite its pain—is still beautiful. Still worth belonging to.

Try this simple teaching:
Tonight, ask your child or yourself:

What felt beautiful today, even in the smallest way?

Then listen without fixing, without rushing, without correcting. Let it be enough.

With lion-hearted love,
Solara (Sarah-Jane)

P.S. The When the Body Speaks series returns next week—and if there’s a part of your body speaking loud and clear right now, hit reply and let me know. I’d love to speak to it for you. 🧡
